Spring

Spring is a time of renewal. Creeks run, birds sing and trees bud in our historic downtown as the weather transitions from cold to mild. There are some cold days and snow, but it’s short-lived as warm days are interspersed and become more frequent. Events begin to pick up and residents start to get out for walks and muddy hikes with their families. Kids can be carefree and stomp in puddles, and adults to take in a show at Ti-Ahwaga Players or check out some live music.

Summer

Summer is a busy time in Tioga County! There are some hot summer days and nights, but for the most part it is not the sweltering heat of other areas. The lush, green landscape and warm weather means people are out and about enjoying summer concert series, farmers markets, hikes, biking and paddling on the river. There can be dry spells, but also summer rains that bring rainbows over the river and countryside.

Fall

Fall in Tioga County is a sweater-weather treat! There are plenty of crisp fall days, but also some warm summerlike ones throughout the beginning of the season. The hills blaze with colors as the leaves turn, making for great hikes and scenic drives. Fall is final harvest time for our local farms, and there's a lot to do at our farms like Iron Kettle and Stoughton’s Corn Maze.
